With Chinese New Year Approaching on January 31st, we are excited to announce our very first Fundraiser to bring our 2 China Song Birds home! We will lovingly Call this Fundraiser "Light The Sky for Hope" Chinese Tradition has it that on the 15th day of the Chinese New Year is the Yuan Xiao festival, also called the Lantern Festival.
We will be selling Chinese Lanterns for $6, we will gladly write a name or short phrase on your lantern and our goal is to Light the Sky on the 15th day of the Chinese New Year which happens to be Feb. 14th (Valentines Day).
We have 100 lanterns to sell. We ask that payments be made to our FSP page (http://reecesrainbow.org/71271/sponsorlee) This is a tax deductible donation. After you have made your donation, please forward your receipt to (fostermummy1@yahoo.com) and include the name or short message you would like added to your lantern. We have scheduled the Light the Sky for Feb. 14th, but because of the climate we live in (the Great NW) and its unpredictable rainy weather we may have to be flexible! This will happen though and we will take pictures and hopefully even video to share with all to see. The location of Light the Sky will be announced for those that would like to attend. (Just FYI it is schedule for at the Oregon Coast)
