Saved and Safe

Yesterday we came home from the kids gym to find Kendall's beloved flamingo Pinkie surrounded by white fluff. Not sure what got in to the guilty party or parties, but it was a mess. Needless to say there was some tears over this flamingo that I do not think Build- A-Bear hospital will be able to fix.

The point of this blog though was to share a sweet act of kindness from Kopelan. He was down having breakfast this morning and saw that Pinkie was still sitting on the table. I told him we needed to head out the door to get him to school. He promptly said, " I got to take Kendall's flamingo upstairs so the dogs won't get it again". I did not think that was necessary, but was not in the mood to argue so off he went.

Fast forward a few hours as I am running around packing the kids and I to head to Ft. Lauderdale to meet my aunt. I head into the kids room to see the bed sheets cubby had exploded all over there room. I was a little confused as the last time I was up there this morning the room was clean. So I start gathering the sheets and open the sheet cubby and who do I find tucked safe and sound where no dog would ever think to look, Pinkie. Kopelan had took all the sheets and thrown them around the room, lol, to hide the flamingo safely in the cubby. What a sweet and kind little brother to save his sisters flamingo from a second chomping on. He really does love his sissy and little things like this are proof. Love me kids.

Back to Basics

So we are headed back to the basics of potty training. My very stubborn, sometimes I think just lazy son has reverted to peeing his pants quite often again. This is not acceptable especially at a school where they have to be potty trained. He had made it a routine thing to wet his pants during recess everyday. Now to me that is just laziness and the fact that he does not want to stop playing. So the teachers are being extra vigilant in taking him potty before the go outside. At home he was also wetting his pants a lot more. He never really seemed to care and plus there was always a clean supply of underwear and shorts, so why not lol! So we have gone back to basics with the positive reinforcement. 1 jelly bean for a pee, a chocolate for a poo and if he can stay dry all day at school then he gets to pick out of the treasure box. I am hoping this will be some what of an incentive to again start using the toilet on a regular basis. Only time will tell. All fingers are crossed.

Chosen?

Iwonder, how are we chosen to live the life we do? I mean I know God is in full control of our lives and knows how it will start and end before we do, but sometimes I struggle with the fact that some have it good and some have it horrible. How is that decided?

I have been really struggling with the fact that I want to adopt again. I have been researching and reading and came across the site Reecesrainbow.com , a site that helps families connect with special needs orphans around the world. Orphans because they were not born perfect in somebodies eyes and in their society are not accepted. How is their life chosen to live a life in an orphanage. Some who never leave, they are taken their at birth and they die there, ALONE. Never being loved on like a child should be, never being snuggled and kissed and comforted. How am I so lucky and deserving to have 2 happy healthy children, that of course are perfect to me. To always have a full belly and a roof over my head. Two parents who loved me growing up and taught me to love. How was I so lucky?

Vacation

This vacation has been a whirl wind of activities. Everyday is go, go, go! Our children picked up pamphlets for many different activities and had an itinerary for us all their own. It was pretty funny actually to hear them with their list. "First we will do the Horse riding, then the golf, then the candy mirror maze." then Kopelan would add in, "and see the transformers." I do have to report we have rode horses, played golf, went through a mirror maze, candy store and the Knoxville zoo. It has been so fun!

KC had to fly home yesterday and so we drove into knoxville to drop him at the airport. Sad to see him go as I hate that he does not get to spend as much time on vacation as me and the kids. He is the reason we get to do these trips and it sucks that his job ties him down so much. One day this will not be the case I know this. Anyways we took advantage of being in Knoxville and visited the Knoxville Zoo. Being a member of the Palm Beach Zoo we got entry for free (SCORE!!!) for all of us. It rained off and on, but we all made the best of it and enjoyed seeing all the different animals. I enjoy going to Zoo's with the kids as I know it will not be to many more years where they will want to do amusement parks and other exciting things. Zoo's will be become to babyish. So for now we will see the zoo's, everyone so unique from one another.

Today is our last full day. We are moving slowly today, but that is okay. The kids want to play board games with Mimi and Papa and that is okay with me. They are enjoying their time just being around my parents and I am loving just watching them.

Road Trip

So we left yesterday March 11th on a road trip to Gatlinburg, TN. We started our trip at 6:30pm arriving in Jacksonville, FL 4 hrs later. We stayed with some great friends over night and headed out early this morning. We had an 8 hr plus stops drive to arrive in Gatlinburg. Kids honestly did soooooo good. The drive was pretty uneventful. No car trouble (thank you God), no meltdown (by the kids or parents), all in all pretty good. We enjoyed our time together, singing, watching movies and celebrating with Kendall as she LOST HER 2ND Tooth!! Can you believe it! Tooth number 2. So both bottom teeth are gone. She looks so cute and grown up all at the same time. WOW! Of course we had are scrambling tonight for tooth fairy money, lol! Kendall assured us that the tooth fairy goes everywhere, so she is not worried.

Okay on another note we get to Gatlinburg, and get checked into our cabin, get unpacked, all is good. K.C. takes the kids to ride their bikes and get some energy out while I put everything away and call out for dinner. While I am putting stuff away I notice spots on the white bedding, upon a closer look, I notice they are ladybugs. Upon further exploring I find many ladybugs around the cabin, like over 10. So I call the front desk to ask about this ladybug invasion. The man says, yes he is aware and yes they are everywhere. I guess the national park up the road releases them and now they have left their home and found homes in everybody else's homes. Sort of gross, you may say but they are just ladybugs, well imagine looking up at the light fixture and it being completely black around the inside. Needless to say we will be calling in the morning to have them removed. We have decided they must like the heat of the lights and we will be leaving the lights on all night praying that they will stay put. They better.

Oh Wow!!

Oh WOW!! I am bad at this blogging thing. To finish up the very last post I did, yep I still have no green thumb and I killed every single plant we tried to grow. Go figure. So flash forward not months, but years now. Yes it has been years since my last post. Told you I was bad at this. HAHA!!

We had a great time while living in Riverview, FL. We enjoyed making many new friends and had lots of foster children come through are home. Now flash forward YEAAAAAAAAAAARRRRR!

So we are currently residing in Jupiter, FL! KC has gotten a new job and we are living the beach life, lol!! Kendall is now 5 1/2yrs old and in VPK. Kopelan is 3yrs old and attending preschool. I am still in shock at how fast my children are growing. Isn't there a tupperware or something that I can use to slow the growth, preserve their sweet little faces and tiny bodies. Maybe I should invent that, I know it would be a seller to all the mother's out there. HAHA!

I guess that is all I have, I am sure you all would like to see some updated photos so if I can figure out how to get them on here, you can enjoy them.
